1950s retro lamp shade w/ diamond pattern

antique white lamp shade, in retro vintage style

XL 2-tier fiberglass lampshade, retro 1950s style.

  • style/size: XL 2-tier lampshade
  • height: 11″ (height can be customized)
  • color: sand
  • pattern: hand-painted brown diamond grid
  • brown lanyard

The XL shade has an 18″ diameter main tier and a 13″ diameter top tier, but we can make this style in small, medium, large, and XXL (21″ diameter) sizes, as well. You can customize the height for your application.

The hand-painted, retro diamond pattern is the classic 1950s “harlequin” design, shown here in brown on hand-stained antique white fiberglass parchment. The pattern outline can be selected from any of our pattern colors, and the pattern ‘field” is simply the base color of the shade. The sand color shown here is a warm hue that imparts a vintage feel to the shade.

The diamond pattern can be put on any of Meteor Lights’ midcentury lampshade or pendant shade styles (i.e. drum shade, tiered, atomic, etc.), on any shade diameter, and on any standard shade height, but the pattern doesn’t work well on tall custom heights.

I love your lamp shades! I am interested in two hanging lights for over our kitchen island, but do not want a white or black cord. Do you have brown cords?

Sorry, the pendant light fixture and swag lamp cordsets are only available in white or black at this time.

I am interested in several of your lamp shades but would like to see them in person. Do you have a gallery or store in San Francisco?

As of 2015, Meteor no longer has a retail storefront in San Francisco, but you can visit our workshop in central SF by appointment. Please email or call for more details.

Hello, I am interested in ordering 2 LARGE 1950’s shades similar to the above, color Sand w/Gold lanyard. Can you accommodate the request? If so, price point?

    Thank you

I am interested in buying a 2-tiered lampshade for an end table lamp circa mid 60’s. It is a barrel shaped lamp, probably an 18 inch (?) size in height, and has the post (?). Want to get a gift for my brother’s house. This looks like it would work. Write me back; I will sneak around and ask how tall it is. Might be a late Christmas present. What is the price?

Options and pricing for our shades can be found in the shopping cart: fiberglass lampshades
