Lumicel is a unique translucent lighting diffusion parchment that offers the glowing luminescence of mid-century fiberglass lighting materials, but without the drawbacks associated with fiberglass. Instead of glass fibers, Lumicel’s diffusing strands are made from recycled food-grade water bottles (PET polyester).
Sold by the running yard, Lumicel comes off a 59″ wide roll.
Lumicel is white, has a slight texture, and can be painted or printed like fiberglass parchment with water-based dyes or acrylic paints. It is ideal for almost any lighting application.
Lumicel cuts with scissors or matte knife, and can be punched with standard hole punches, Lumicel is slightly heavier than fiberglass parchment, but is much more durable. Lumicel won’t rip, tear, or deteriorate like fiberglass lighting fabrics.
Lumicel is great for lamp shades, light fixtures, shoji screens, and craft projects. Lumicel is polymer based; so please observe UL guidelines for plastic lighting materials.
