Meteor Lights offers authentic hand-painted 1950s/midcentury-modern patterns on any of our lampshades or pendant lamps. Our patterns are not computer-generated digital prints. Instead, our designs are individually hand-applied, so each shade will be your own unique functional objet d’art, just like the one-of-a-kind fiberglass lampshades produced from the mid-1940s through the early 1960s.

Most shade patterns are available in any color (webs are available in any combination of black, white, gold, and/or silver, and several other of our hand-drawn designs have similar color options). We often add or make changes to our color options, so there may be some discrepancies between the image gallery and drop-down menu in the shopping cart, but we can do most of our MCM patterns in any color shown or listed. We don’t list all the designs we do, so if there is a pattern you’d like but don’t see listed, please ask!

Please note that fabric color and pattern are two different options. We can do any pattern in any color (again, with the exception of webs and a couple others) on any parchment color. So, first pick your shade color, then pick your pattern (assuming you want a pattern, that is; otherwise leave the shopping cart drop-down menu on “no pattern”), and then pick your pattern color. This enables you to customize your unique shade exactly to your preference.

You can order any pattern in one or multiple colors. The shopping cart allows for a second color, but if you want more, just mention it in the order form message box. In most cases, there is no upcharge.

For multi-tier shades, you can configure pattern placement on just the main tier, on just the secondary tiers, or on all tiers. If you have an unusual pattern combination and/or placement request, just mention it in the order form message box.

In a few cases, some of the patterns aren’t available on certain size shades. For example, the arc and combo arc pattern don’t work well when the shade gets above, say, 14″ tall or so. We’ll let you know if there any problems with your selections after you place your order, but this seldom happens. In some cases, certain patterns might not be ideal on certain parchment colors. For example, gold webs doesn’t show very well against the deep butterscotch color (it can still work as a subtle option). Again, we’ll let you know if we think there are any issues with your color and pattern selections.
