Turquoise 1950s-style lampshade made from hand-stained fiberglass lampshade material, by Meteor Lights Custom Lighting in San Francisco, CA. Few colors evoke the 1950s quite like turquoise and aqua.

The angular atomic-googie shape, free-form swirls pattern (inspired by American Abstract Expressionist painters), and whipstitched edges complete this tribute to midcentury lighting and industrial design.

turquoise or aqua?!

We’re sometimes asked about the difference between our turquoise and aqua shade colors. Our turquoise is a bluish green hue, while our aqua is more of a greenish blue.

Below: aqua on the left (top on mobile), turquoise on the right (bottom on mobile):

There’s a definite difference, but the distinction can be subtle to some eyes (and color perception is relative). If you’re still on the greenish-blue or blueish-green fence, email us for some hand-dyed shade parchment samples. To perplex you even further, we also do sage, seafoam, lime, apple, jade, olive (bright, medium, and deep), light blue, blue, deep blue, periwinkle (aka cornflower), and blue-gray, and we can do anything by request (except for Freebird…).

Design your own midcentury-style atomic 2-tier lampshade or pendant lamp shade.
