1950s-style shade on a vintage (and wild!) 1950s lamp.
Custom replacement fiberglass shade, made from hand-stained fiberglass shade parchment.
Shown in pink. The extra-large reverse 2-tier lampshade accentuates and complements the strong and simple geometric shapes on the floor lamp base.
1950s shade shapes were often chosen to accentuate and highlight the wild lamp base shapes that developed during the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Post-war industrial designers were granted a freedom that was rare in pre-war industrial design, and their work remains fresh and inspires many of today’s styles.
