Turquoise 1950s-style lampshade made from hand-stained fiberglass lampshade material, by Meteor Lights Custom Lighting in San Francisco, CA. Few colors evoke the 1950s quite like turquoise and aqua.

The angular atomic-googie shape, free-form swirls pattern (inspired by American Abstract Expressionist painters), and whipstitched edges complete this tribute to midcentury lighting and industrial design.

We’re often asked about the difference between our turquoise and aqua shade colors. Our turquoise is a bluish green, while our aqua is more of a greenish blue.

There’s a definite difference, but the distinction can be subtle to some eyes (and color perception is relative). To confuse you even more, we also do sage, seafoam, lime, apple, jade, olive (bright, medium, and deep), light blue, blue, and blue-gray, and we can do any color by request.
