Our work is carefully made by hand and takes time to fabricate. Most orders generally take between 4-8 weeks. Depending on our workload and the size of your order, in some cases we may be able to expedite or rush your order. In some cases orders may take longer. You will receive an auto-response order confirmation when you place your order, but we will contact you directly after we have reviewed your order, and let you know our best estimate for turn-around time. Please let us know in advance if you have a deadline, and we will try to accommodate your needs.
damage
Please inspect all items for damage upon delivery. Please note any parcel damage. Our packing method greatly minimizes damage due to rough handling, and damage is very rare in transit, but shades can be damaged if the carriers abuse the parcel in transit. Please do not refuse delivery, and instead contact us immediately with respect to any damage found upon delivery so that we can initiate a claim and start working on your replacement. Please hang on to the damaged item and all packing materials in case the carrier needs to review them in order to process the claim. We may ask you to provide photographic evidence that we will submit to the carrier in order to process the claim. We genuinely appreciate your cooperation.
returns
Ready-to-ship shades and hardware: returnable for full credit or refund less packing & shipping. Customer to provide insured return shipping label. Shades must be repacked exactly as they were received; items we receive back damaged will not be eligible for refund.
Custom shades: Unless there is a defect in materials or workmanship, or we made your order incorrectly, custom-made shades are returnable or exchangeable with a 50% restocking charge (packing & shipping are not refundable). Customer to provide return insured shipping label. Items must be repacked exactly as they were received; items we receive back damaged will not be eligible for refund.

warranty
Properly installed, correct wattage guidelines observed, and subject to normal wear and tear, our shades (including workmanship and materials) are guaranteed for ten years when proper care is observed (properly cared for, our shades should last for decades). We will replace defective shades at no cost to the customer. Not covered are removal, installation, and return shipping to our workshop. Please contact us for an approval before returning any items. Minor differences in color are part of the custom fabrication process; we will do our best to exactly match the original, but replacements may differ slightly.
care
Our shades are water-resistant, do not fray, and are far more durable than paper or cloth shades. Our shades need virtually no care: no more than a light dusting is rarely called for. If necessary, shades can be cleaned with a damp cloth (gently wiped, not scrubbed), and patted dry. We do not recommend abrasives, scrubbing pads, solvents, or commercial cleaners, any of which can damage the shade finish. Please observe safe wattage guidelines (permitted max. wattage will be determined by your specific shade configuration). Although the use of incandescent bulbs of appropriate wattage is entirely acceptable, we recommend the use of energy-efficient CFL and LED bulbs when possible; the lower heat output of energy-efficient bulbs will greatly decrease the possibility that you inadvertently use bulb wattage in excess of the permitted wattage (as determined by your shade configuration), and the lower heat will increase the lifetime of the shade.
electrical
Electrical hardware is guaranteed for five years. Electrical hardware may not be covered under warranty if other than Meteor Lights shades are installed on the cordset. Cordsets bear 5 lbs. max. We are not liable for damage caused by electrical hardware connected to voltage more than 5% above standard North American voltage. We are not liable for damage to electrical hardware caused by power surges or other electrical malfunctions. We will replace, repair, or refund faulty hardware. Not covered are removal, installation, and return shipping to our workshop. Field repair will not be covered without our prior approval. Although the use of incandescent bulbs of appropriate wattage is entirely acceptable, we recommend the use of energy-efficient CFL and LED bulbs when possible; the lower heat output of energy-efficient bulbs will greatly decrease the possibility that you inadvertently use bulb wattage in excess of the permitted wattage (as determined by your shade configuration), and the lower heat will increase the lifetime of the electrical hardware. Although our electrical hardware sets are easy to install, we recommend that customers inexperienced with electrical installation use a professional electrician. We are not liable for any damage or injury caused by incorrect or unsafe installation. Please contact us for an approval before returning any items.
fine print
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, abuse or improper care of items, item damage due to improper installation, aftermarket item modification, acts of God, negligence, vandalism, and damage or injury as a result of the foregoing. Maximum liability will not exceed the original product purchase price. No other warranty is expressed or implied.
