Meteor Lights makes rectangular shade styles to customer specification. Rectangle shades or light fixtures are specified by their length x width x height dimensions, in inches. Corners can be sharp or radiused to spec. Rectangle-shaped shades work well on rectangular lamp bases, but can be tricky to fit properly on other lamp styles.     Can you make a tall cone shade out of fabric instead of fiberglass?

    Can you make fabric shades for tall Danish lamps? The outer shade that you can see through to also see the inner shade ?

    Do you need the lamp itself to make a reproduction shade for a majestic lamp?
    ( the shade is not the typical z design)

    If not, could you point me to a company who can?

      Hi. We don’t work with cloth or paper, if that’s what you mean. We’re lighting snobs who think that cloth is best left for clothes, upholstery, and bedding, and paper for books, newspapers, and postcards. We use translucent materials that are designed specifically for lighting, that can withstand higher heat than paper or cloth, and that will last far longer than those materials. Our materials are strong and don’t need additional backing. Ever notice the inside of old cloth shades? They’re lined with polystyrene that yellows and cracks with age. Our shades will look great decades after cloth shades have crumbled into dust.

      We don’t make the mesh outer shade.

      We don’t need the original Majestic lamp, but if the shade has an unusual shape, we would need the original shade frame. We’ve made replacement shades for many different types of Majestic lamps.

    I do metal work, and lamps are one of the things I make. I made a metal patch floor lamp that is 1 in. thick and 12 in wide that is rusted and has some patina..Could I get a price on this rust colored lamp shade. I need it to be 11 in. tall.

      This lampshade, a custom rectangle, was 21″ long x 11″ deep x 14″ tall. We can make it in other heights. Please e-mail us directly for a price quote.
